Listener Mailbag: September 1, 2012

Posted by Eric on September 1, 2012 at 12:00 PM CST

This week's mailbag features CVI (and CEII announcement) reactions, interview feedback, a Kitster convention sighting, and more.

CEII In Essen, Germany Is A Home Match For This Listener

Dear Jason & Jimmy,

Long-time listener Achim from Essen (Germany) here. I canít even begin to describe how I feel! For all these years Iíve envied you guys because all those great Star Wars events took place somewhere in the U.S. where I couldnít possibly afford to go with my family. And now I just learned that the next Celebration Europe is coming to my home town in 2013!!! The best thing is that the location where Celebration Europe II will take place is less than two minutes away from where I live. It canít get any better than this!!! Thatís sooooo wizard...

Iíve been a Star Wars fan and collector ever since 1977. The Brian Daley novels actually were a great inspiration for my own career as a sci-fi author. Iím so thrilled that the next big event is taking place literally at my doorstep! Canít wait!!!

Anyhow, thanks for all those great shows that you provide us with every week. I do hope to meet you in person here in Essen (first round of drinks is on me). Let me know if you need any hotel recommendations or something.

Meeting The ForceCast at CVI

Jason, Jimmy Mac, and The ForceCast crew,

It was awesome getting to meet you all. Thank you for all the hard work you do. Over the years you have helped fan the flames of my fandom and now help shape the fandom of my children.

Until C7, yours in the Force,

Robert Ray

P.S.: Here's a picture of myself, my daughter Angelique and the birthday boy Jason. Again thank you for everything.

A Kitster Sighting at CVI

Saw this at CVI and forgot to mention it when we came by the booth. :)

Sam Witwer Interview Feedback

Hey Jason and Jimmy,

Awesome to see you guys again at C6! Thanks for all you guys do!!! Wanted to hit you guys up about our man Sam Witwer. The interview you guys did with him in March was one of the best interviews I've heard on the show; the guy is just awesome to listen to. Great to hear his panel at the con. Is he going to be on the show again any time soon? I'd love to hear him again.

I didn't get to show you guys in Florida, but I wanted to show off my new son. He's my first born and his name is Ben (yes, from Obi-Wan).

Thanks again for all you guys do! Looking forward to listening to the C6 shows.

May the Force be with you,

Shawn Thomas

Leaving No Fan Behind

Greetings KitsterCast!

So, first off, let me just say (1) you guys are awesome, (2) it was great to finally get to meet both of you at C6, and (3) thanks in advance for the hours of coverage to come. As you both know, there's no way that one person can catch all the happenings at a Celebration and your show is invaluable to us fans. Even those of us who were fortunate enough to attend are still faced with the difficult task of deciding where to go (and when, and God help you if you're also trying for autographs).

Just so you know, I actually discovered the ForceCast after C5 when I was looking for a way to keep the excitement going and I've been hooked ever since. It was a great comfort knowing that while you can't cover everything, I could rest easy knowing you'd have my back (as much as possible) when I returned. Keep up the amazing work and making sure that no fan gets left behind (even those of us who were there!).

Take care,

Thanks to all of this week's mailbag contributors! Keep your emails coming to forcecast@forcecast.net.
