The Return of Saints Fett

Posted by xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx on February 8, 2010 at 11:48 AM CST

As we reported in a previous blog, courtesy of our pal, Sonny From Nawlins, an enthusiastic fan of the champion New Orleans Saints is expressing his love for the team in a very Mando sort of way! As we celebrate the Saints victory in the Super Bowl, faithful ForceCast listener Jeff Kent from ABC 26 WGNO in New Orleans weighs in with more about this mysterious "Bayou Boba!" :

Hey guys,
First off let me say WHO DAT!!! I've been listening to your show for sometime and as one who works in television I can appreciate the quality and incredible content you have in your weekly podcast. It truly stands out strong. I love the show keep up the good work.

Several weeks ago you mentioned that a listener sent in some pictures from a TV of Saints Fett. I've recently became involved with the 501st in New Orleans, The Bast Alpha Garrison. One of the members who is both a Saints fan and a Star Wars fan created Saints Fett. I was going to get you some better photos to you but decided, "heck, I'll do a photo essay" and send it to you.

Super Saints Fans - Photographer Jeff Kent reports - Part 18 - Mission Miami - 2/6/10

The segment aired in one of our Superbowl specials. I hope this sheds light on Saints Fett as well as other NFL/Star Wars fans promoting their spirit. Although there are many NFL team troopers, it appears that Larry Jehle Jr. (JAY-LEE) (Saints Fett) was the first to create a Fett in as an NFL/Star Wars Costume. Gary Breaux, Commanding officer of BAG says " We just thought that was the greatest idea that anybody ever had and we just absolutely had to include him in our costuming group." Although Larry has other costumes in the 501st it's his Saints Fett that attracts a lot of attention from Who Dats, at the games as well as Mardi Gras parades each year. We're all very proud of Larry for keeping the faith in our home team as well as promoting Star Wars. And just in case you're wondering, Colts Trooper and Saints Fett did not attend the Super Bowl in Miami, but Saints Fett made it to the streets of the French Quarter greeting fans and taking lots of pictures.
From the Who Dat Nation.... This is Jeff Kent....signing out!
