Young Star Wars Fan Writes ROTS-Inspired Poem For Homework

Posted by Eric on June 7, 2011 at 01:00 PM CST

We at The ForceCast are big fans of Star Wars poetry, whether it's from Billy Dee Williams on our Quote of the Week segment or from one of our listeners here on our blog. That's why we were happy to receive this email from ForceCast listener Jeff Fisher, whose eleven-year-old son Caleb wrote a Star Wars poem that he wanted to share.

Hey Jason & Jimmy,

My 11-year old son Caleb was working on different styles poetry for his 5th grade class. He was excited to show me a Star Wars narrative poem based on Revenge of the Sith. I thought he did a fantastic job and told him that we gotta send this to the ForceCast.

Hope you guys enjoy reading it.

You can see the poem below or check out the PDF of Caleb's assignment.

STAR WARS 3

Anakin and Obi-Won headed into space,
Making their mission a big race.
There were booms and crashes like a big whip,
Before they made their way into the ship!

They went to get the Chancellor,
But sadly they fell through the floor!
When they finally got to where they needed,
They made an escape and the Chancellor oh so pleaded.

But Anakin and Obi-Won had to split up,
Too fight those who thought they were corrupt.
Anakin went to join the Dark Side,
While Obi-Won went for a ride!

Obi-Won went to fight "General Grievous",
And tell him to just stop and leave us!
The General said "no" which wasn't very clever
'Cause he got destroyed by a triggers lever.

But Anakin found a secret, though not for a good reason.
Then threatened a man for treason.
So Anakin turned him in, and made him mad.
And for that the man made him turn bad!

Then later, Anakin and Obi-Won met on a planet that wasn't right.
So Obi-Won had to destroy Anakin in a big fight!
All because Anakin an Padme were father and mother.
Though the last words said to Anakin was "I thought of you as a brother."

So in the end,
Almost everyone had a friend.
Anakin was supposed dead,
Though everyone misread!

Great poem, Caleb! Thanks to Jeff Fisher for sending this in to us!
